The aim of this course is to give participants an understanding, an appreciation and an ability to make a sound assessment (and indeed help build on) on a Partner’s financial management capacity.

This course emphasises the importance of designing an intervention based on evidence and will provide skills for using practical methods for measuring at different (planning) stages of your project or programme. The course will also explore the different types of evidence for planning at baseline stage; such as quantitative and qualitative data, data on context, current situation of stakeholders and capacity of organizations to implement.

This course will provide participants with the skills to analyse and assess the functioning of organisations. Participants will learn how to promote or facilitate learning and change processes in their own as well as partner organisations.

This course is designed to introduce participants to newly emerging trends in development, including shift from projects to programmes, changing funding mechanisms and principles behind the new aid modalities. The course will give participants an overview of the new development concepts and approaches and facilitate a reflection on consequences for their daily work.
